Osipovichi Automobile Devices Plant, the country's biggest producer of goods from glass-reinforced plastic, polyurethane foam and aluminium molding, produced BYR 41 billion worth of commodities in January-June 2006, which is almost 30% up on the year. During that period consumer goods output grew by 6.5%.
In the four-month period the company exported $800,000 in commodities, which is 120% up against last year. The enterprise channels its exports to the markets of Russia, Ukraine and the Baltic States.
They attribute the increase in production to the refurbishment activities the company engaged in last year. In particular, they invested over BYR 2 billion in retrofitting activities in 2005. 80% of that amount was the company's own funds, while the remaining 20% was provided by the Ministry of Architecture and Construction's Innovation Fund.
The funds went to purchase and install new equipment for fiberglass plastic production. The capacity of the new production facility is 230 tonnes of plastic goods a year.
Currently, the enterprise is using 100% of its production facilities, while the staff is operating in a three-shift mode.
The enterprise seeks to be the major supplier of Minsk Automobile Plant (MAZ). MAZ is the main destination of Osipovichi-made plastics. The company also co-operates with BelAZ, Gomselmash, Motovelo and other enterprises.
The company also expands the range of consumer goods, which now includes kiosk booths, rowboats, furniture accessories, etc. The company exports its products to Russia, Ukraine and the Baltic States. Last year the value of exports made $866 thousand.
Osipovichi Automobile Devices Plant was founded in 1976. Workforce - 2,350 people.
